Reading List for a Blue-Green Life
The Green Bible (Harper Bibles)
Like red-letter editions where Jesus’ words are red, but here the green print indicates conservation, sustainability, etc. It’s made of recycled paper and the ink is soy-based. The Sierra Club and the Humane Society are a few of the nonreligious groups in the partnership that supported this effort.
The Ten Trusts, by Jane Goodall and Mark Bekoff
Just one of many Goodall-authored books on animals and ecology that I plan to read. This one bears the subtitle What We Must Do to Care for the Animals We Love.
Fresh Food From Small Places, by R.J. Ruppenthal
Because I’m relegated to windowsills and carhoods for sunlit gardening spaces, the “square-inch” methodology of this books should prove very helpful.

The Healing Kitchen, by Patricia Stapley
This one is especially intriguing to my only-slightly-hidden hippie. It has to do with using herbs for their many medicinal values.
Looks like very good reading material. I’m so thrilled that people are encouraging and educating others about the joys of gardening, even in small spaces or limited sunlight. Working/playing in the dirt produces food for both the body and the soul. I’m also very interested in the healing properties of herbs.
